Introducing the Taipei Biotech Awards
To encourage the participation of academia and research in the development of the biotech industry, promote excellence in biotech research and development, and facilitate the translation of academic achievements into practical applications, the Taipei City Government established the 'Taipei Biotech Awards' in 2004. This prestigious award is dedicated to the biotech industry and focuses on rewarding outstanding achievements in various aspects of the industry, including innovative technology exploration, technology transfer, product marketing, and bridging academia and industry. The evaluation committee comprises experts and scholars from three major fields: biotech technology, finance, and intellectual property. They meticulously and fairly assess the submissions to select exemplary enterprises and research units in Taipei City, awarding them with trophies and monetary incentives.
Thanks to its fair and rigorous evaluation process and the dedication of its expert committee members, the Taipei Biotech Awards have gained recognition and praise from the biotech industry, having presented over 250 outstanding achievements and awarded over NT$100 million in total cash prizes to date. With the unwavering support of the industry and the Taipei City Government's efforts as a driving force, the Taipei Biotech Awards have earned the nickname 'Biotech Oscars' in the biotech community. It serves as an excellent platform for top domestic biotech enterprises to enhance their corporate image and gain international visibility.
